Jenna Ortega and her stylist Enrique Melendez know a thing or two about always being in style. So, there was no better fashion duo to take on the carpet at InStyle‘s second annual Imagemaker Awards.The Wednesday star, who is known for her A+ dark academia aesthetic, arrived at the event on October 23 wearing a sheer, lilac-colored gown with lace detail and the highest leg slit.
She accessorized with a cropped faux fur coat in burgundy, as well as silver heels and a De Beers drop necklace with over 30 carats of diamonds set in 18K white and yellow gold. Melendez matched his muse in the same color velvet suit with floral details throughout.
At InStyle’s Imagemaker Awards, an event to honor the industry’s most influential stylists, beauty pros, and more, Ortega will present the special Future of Fashion award to Melendez for his work with the actress and his other clients, including Julia Butters and Jaylen Barron. Alongside the Wednesday actress, fellow award recipients and guests include Jessica Biel, Laura Dern, Kerry Washington, and Riley Keough.
Together, Melendez and Ortega have made some major red carpet magic over the last year. Who could forget her gothic glamour press tour for Wednesday season 2 or her Givenchy by Sarah Burton top made entirely of jewels at the Emmys?
But perhaps, Ortega’s most internet-breaking look was the slimy Snakeskin gown that she wore to the Wednesday premiere. For the London premiere, Ortega turned heads in an Ashi Studio gown made to look a shedding snake with its fringed hems and clingy, wet-looking bodice. The jaw-dropping look also featured a peplum details and a frayed, floor-grazing train.
She accompanied the look with a super long butt-length ponytail, bleached brows, and a deep maroon lip.
Melendez recently celebrated his birthday by opening up about working with Ortega. “Honestly getting to still work in this industry and create with someone I love and people I respect and admire is such a great bday gift within itself,” he wrote alongside a photo of Ortega in the iconic dress. “Ugh the beautiful clothes I get to play with!”
